The SortWizard®
Standard
Features
You can SEARCH
and
SORT your selection of exchanges to create a list
of stocks using any combination of criteria and any or all of the fields for the
Standard version listed on this page. There
are no symbol list size limitations and no lists of symbols to enter. The
SortWizard does the work for you by scanning the exchanges you select to create
the list that meets your specific criteria.
The SortWizard
is a comprehensive produced designed with the trader in mind. Shown below
are some of the features that make it compatible for most traders.
-
Use time saving
hot link features to send symbols to the Market Markers and Charts
-
Click/highlight
and drag individual symbols or lists directly into Market Minders.
-
Use the
integrated browser to quickly link to the most favorite news sites by simply
clicking on the symbol in the search results display.
-
Auto Search,
Refresh, News Search on on user defined one minute time intervals (seconds
with the Plus).
-
Open and use
multiple SortWizard search configuration pages simultaneously in a Workspace.
-
Save multiple
SortWizard configurations; no need to re-formulate complex search criteria.
-
Ignore symbols
in searches that you are not interested in analyzing. Ignore in the current
search or globally across all searches.
-
Drag and drop or
cut and paste, to move symbols to Market Minders. Use hotlinks to open and
save the search results to an .SLF type file for easy exporting to and from
your Real Tick III application.
-
Use hotlinks to
export and import *.SLF files to and from RealTick (Townsend Analytics\Parm
file folder).
-
Apply search
criteria to existing symbols lists without searching for new qualifiers.
Great for personal symbol and sector list analysis.
-
Export data in
user definable formats for use in spreadsheets or databases; select from a
list of formatting options or create your own.
-
Sort
each column in ascending or descending or simply by clicking on the column
heading. Complex sorting can be achieved by sorting the least significant
column followed by the more significant column, for example sort by (Last
Trade Price) then (News Date).
-
Move and resize
column headings by dragging and dropping them where you want them.
-
Enable an
audible alarm to be sounded each time a new stock is received, works great for
automatic reception of news.
The SortWizard®
Plus Features
The SortWizard
Plus has all the features of the Standard Version
but, the
Plus
version adds three very powerful features to your trading tool kit. These
features are intended to provide the advanced trader and SortWizard user with
the added capability and flexibility to create unique and complex searches
limited only by imagination and creativity. The
SortWizard eliminates the programming challenge of having to arranging the
criteria in the correct order for the searches to execute as intended by
automatically sequencing the criteria as the search is being constructed. T
With the Plus
Version the added features are added:
The
Add Field
capability. This function enables you to add and delete fields from your Search
Criteria Available Fields list box.
The Available Fields
list found under the Add Field tab in Parameters Setup generates a list of ALL
the fields that are located on the data feed server to which you have logged on.
This list will vary depending on what your data feed service provider /
broker has chosen to support. The accuracy of the data is a function
of the frequency and level of maintenance your data feed supplier chooses to
perform.
Some
fields on the server are searchable and other fields only will return reference
information. The Price Server LiveQuote Table fields are searchable fields.
The Calculations Server and Pre-defined Table fields are searchable as well. If
the fields are not searchable, they will only display what specific reference
information that is contained in the field; e.g. a PE ratio, Shares Outstanding
and etc.
Formula writing
capability.
Through the use of the Formulas
function, you can create your own unique formulas. Any of the fields you
selected in the Add Field function can be incorporated into your formulas with a
simple double click. The all the that needs to be added is the algebraic
symbols and any specific values and the formula is completed. With that and the
Check Formula feature, formulas can be created quickly and errors in formulas
can be easily isolated and corrected.
The results of the
formulas can be conditionally set to specific criteria in the Primary Criteria
tab of the Search Parameters Setup. Then when you run a search only those
stocks that qualify to those criteria will appear in the search results
display. If you would like to change definitions of the formulas in the
Standard version, you can even edit those formulas to you liking.
The creation of
formulas uses the same convention and functions as used in Microsoft’s Excel
spreadsheet application. There is no new or special programming language to
learn. If you are familiar with that Excel or other similar spreadsheet
applications, you will be ready to use this function immediately. If you would
like to see some of the functions supported you can
go
to Reference Center.

Limits
criteria. The
idea here is to use Limits to continue reducing further the number of symbols
that appear from a search and speed up your analysis to a trade decision.
Limits are very
similar to formulas except there is not a display column associated with them.
If the value set in the Limit meets the criteria, the limit will allow the
symbol to be displayed, if it is not met, the Limit will disregard the symbol.
Items are displayed based on a accumulation of these limits, all limits must
result in a "True" condition for a symbol to pass through the criteria. like
"=TRDPRC_1 > 10" is an example of a simple Limit. Through the use of Limits,
compound and conditional (IF, AND, OR) statements can be easly created. To test
your search results, you can disable limits by simply un-checking the check box
next to the limit statement.
Historic
Database. With the Plus, you can
Search,
Sort and use in any of over 250 additional fields for the creation of
searches in any combination and with any
criteria. There are no limitations to the number of fields, formulas or
limits you can use. Many of the fields have time offsets to enable more
sophisticated calculations to be adjusted to fit certain trading patterns.
Some of the fields included are
ADX, Average Volumes, Average Ranges, Moving Averages, Direction Indicators, RSI,
Daily History, and much more.

Additional
historic data or special fields will be added upon request. To request
additions; email:

Special
functions: There are number of
specialized functions unique to the SortWizard designed to add more flexibility
and information to your searches. Some of these are:
-
Is New -
Identifies new symbol that has just qualified in the search. This field can
then be sorted to display new qualifiers automatically on the top of your
list.
-
Market Open
Ratio - The ratio from 0 (open) to 1 (close) of the regular trading day
that has transpired at the time of the search. Use this to create an
automatically incrementing minimum volume criteria.

The SortWizard®
End of Day Features
The SortWizard
End Of Day version has all the same capabilities as the Plus Version
but, it does not perform searches using the current trading day's real-time
data. The
EoD
version uses market close data from the previous day. This is the perfect
tool for the traders
that want to perform simple to complex searches but not have the trade urgency
for real-time execution or notification. There
are no limitations to the number of fields, formulas or limits you can use.
Many of the fields have time offsets to enable more sophisticated calculations
to be adjusted to fit certain trading patterns. The SortWizard eliminates
the programming challenge of having to arranging the criteria in the correct
order for the searches to execute as intended by automatically sequencing the
criteria as the search is being constructed.
There are over 250
data fields available for the creation of
searches in any combination and with any

Average True Range, Moving Averages, Direction Indicators, RSI,
