Installation and Setup Instructions:
-
We assume you have RealTick 7.6 installed and operating. If is now
running exit the RealTick application.
-
Download the SortWizard
application installation file. Save the
file in location of your choice.
- From the folder in which the application software was saved, double
click on the "sw2_.......exe" file. This will install the SortWizard,
configure it to your RealTick installation and add a SortWizard shortcut
icon to your desktop.
- Start up the SortWizard by clicking on the shortcut on your desktop.
You will first get an error message. Click "OK". Then the
SortWizard Server Setup dialog box will come up that looks like this:

- Filling in the blanks for that window is easy. Locate the email
your received that supplied you with this page link. You should save
this information for use with a second computer or if you need to rebuild
you current system. Look for the line << SortWizard Server Setup
Information >>. Just below that is your setup information that begins
with "UN=" and ends with "DI=10xx". Highlight all the server setup
information. Right
click and select "Copy" or press the "CRTL" and then the "C" key. Now click
the "Insert Server Setup Information" button on the Server Setup window (the button above
black arrow in the image above). That should have inserted all the
information into the Setup window's blank fields.
- Click the "OK" on the Setup window.
If you are asked if you want to search your system for
SortWizard documents - answer "Yes". Answering "Yes" will
automatically find all the SortWizard searches installed on your computer and
build a customized file browser for you in the back ground. You should now be logging into
the SortWizard server.
- Once that you have gone through this
procedure upon initial installation, you will not have to repeat this
procedure when your subscription is started or renewed. At that time
just restart the SortWizard after you receive the Setup subscription or
renewal email.
- While we suggest you do the tutorial in the Learning Center first, you can
start the Default search by clicking on the Search
button on the toolbar or
the Clear and Search
button. You can
change the criteria by clicking on the
and editing the
fields in the Primary Criteria. There are also Templates and Samples
that are located in the file browser window on the left side of the display.
Click on the "Templates" or "User files" tabs to locate those files
you can use to get started.
- In Learning Center we
have prepared a number of examples to help you quickly learn how to use the
SortWizard. The examples are written in the form of a tutorial to
demonstrate how to use the key aspects of the program.
- The
Operating Instructions will help you to learn more about the
capabilities of the SortWizard. You can quickly refer to them by
clicking on the "World with Spyglass" icon on the SortWizard's toolbar.
Note the "Other References" at the top of Operating Instructions page.
Also, check out the Subscriber's Area on the web site. There, you will find
updates as they become available and other useful items. On that page there
will be a link to the Resource Center
where subscriber's have shared their own strategies and search criteria for
you to try. Plus, there is other useful reference information located on that
page for you to use everyday.

Troubleshooting tips:
In general, if you are having trouble uninstalling and reinstalling the
SortWizard is not going to be the solution. Trouble mostly results from
incorrect user or server information.
Error #1: If you get an "Invalid User Name" error, you did not supply the
correct user name when you completed the subscription order form. Click on the
"World with Spyglass" icon (far right end) on the SortWizard's toolbar. This
will take you to the SortWizard web site. Click on FAQ's at the top of the
page. Go to the "Datafeed and SW Server Issues" section in the FAQs. Or you
can go to the Subscriber's Area found on the left of the page. Go to the
"Change RealTick User Name" section. Click on the link there. Complete the
form making sure you supply the new or correct User Name AND the User Name you
submitted.
Error #2: If you get an "Unable to Connect to Tal Client" error. Select the
"Server Error?" from the Subscriber's Area menu bar on the web site. Follow
the instructions for correcting a Server Error.
Error #3: You get TAL and other DLL errors when you try to run the
SortWizard. Either you have not installed RealTick on that computer or you tried to
install the SortWizard update prior to installing the trial version.
Error #4: If you have firewall and you cannot login to the SortWizard
server you might have port 18 and 20 blocked. Open port 18 and 20 in the
firewall and try again.
Error #5: If you are having a SortWizard Server login problem - go to the
SortWizard home page and check out the "SW
Server Status" at the top left of the page. If you see anything other than a
green light then you should click on the Service Status link for the status
information.

SortWizard.
